Airtable is a lot of things. It is a cloud collaboration tool combining database and spreadsheet functions and is mainly used to improve workflows, project or data management. You can watch the How to Use Airtable & Getting Started Tutorial (4 min) for some first insights. Watch this more extensive (22 min) tutorial video for Airtable beginners in order to have a more thorough overview. When we introduced Airtable for oikos in 2021, we also hosted a call that was recorded that you can check out.
At oikos, we are currently using Airtable for quite a lot of different purposes:
Fundraising (more information here)
Application processes
Reimbursment requests
Partnerships management
Role overviews
etc.
Each topic has an own so-called base (short for database) which contains all of the relevant data of a particular working area or project. Here are our current bases:
Every team member is encouraged to try out new ways of how to integrate Airtable in their daily work as it can really improve workflows! Here some further links to dive deeper:
Getting started with Airtable Automations (3 videos, each around 3 min)
Ways to use Airtable (4 videos, each 5 min)
Tool Tips (9 videos, 3-5 min each)
Introducing Interface Designer (4 videos, around 5 min each)
Due to budget constraints, we use the free plan and all have to log in using the office@oikos-international.org email address. Find the log-in details in the IT Tools spreadsheet. Beware of the following limitations of the free plan: - Unlimited bases - Up to 5 creators or editors - Unlimited commenter & read-only users - 1 app per base - 1 sync integration - 1,200 records per base - 2GB of attachments per base
